This morning I found myself wide awake by 4:30AM. Which normally wouldn't be a problem because it would mean I had slept in until 9:30AM my local time. If you haven't guessed I'm not at home. Right now, I'm currently over looking the tree tops of Central Park, spotting early morning cyclists and joggers putting in a good session before heading to work.
Four days ago I was totally oblivious to this trip. It was something Luke had planned for a very long time (a 30th birthday trip for himself, I think) and managed to keep it from me until last Saturday evening!
I haven't been to New York City in five years. My last visit was a short one which ended with me hopping a plane to England where I have lived ever since! That was in 2011! Since living in England I have fallen head-over-heels for London and the respect England has on a whole for its history. Something I feel like NYC is losing out to with the multimillion dollar sales deals and tearing down old for new, which in my opinion isn't necessarily a great thing.
Putting all of that aside, I am extremely excited to be here, especially with Luke who has never been! I am determined to show him all my favorite spots and while doing so, restore my great love for the Big Apple. After all, I do have some great memories here!
